South Africa still leads on IT Governance

South Africa was the world’s first country to mandate – in its corporate governance code, King III – the corporate governance of IT as a board responsibility. South Africa continues to blaze the corporate governance trail, having recently mandated implementation, throughout national, provincial and local government, of a framework for the corporate governance of information and communications technologies, which draws on ISO/IEC 38500 and even more heavily on COBIT 5.

Let’s hope that more governments soon see the light!
